Full details of all the webinars planned for the coming year are given below. This series of webinars is supported by the Resource Efficiency Transfer Network at www.resource-efficiency.org which is funded by the UK DTI. Each webinar is given twice during the day at 9am and 4pm GMT so that it can be heard at a reasonable time in most countries. The webinars will last for approximately an hour, and questions resulting from the the presentation will where possible be address by the speaker at the end. We are using Interwise which is one of the best webinar delivery systems and the audio connection can either be over the internet or by phone. It is recommended if you wish to participate in the webinar you first go to the Resource Efficiency Transfer Network (KTN) at the above link, and select tools to have your PC automatically checked for compatibility. You will first have to join KTN online, but that is free and also gives you access to other events and information. If you do not have a headset with microphone, KTN are offering Plantronics .Audio 50 Headsets for £10 + VAT for UK member users. ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
What will be covered:
Who should attend:
About the Presenter: In July of 2000 Peter Murphy formed Active Recycling Ltd after trying to find the solution to disposing of five old mobile phones in a manner that would not be harmful to the environment, and would also recover the materials which could be resold at a profit. Active Recycling has run for some six years and has generated revenues that have been constantly reinvested into the search for new cutting edge technologies. | Eco-design Series – Supply Chain Management, 13th September Presented by Dr Joe Chiodo |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Into these complex supply chains has been added the increasing legal and moral responsibilities to produce sustainable products. The overall responsibility for this relies with the importer or company selling there products in the marketplace. Failure to manage this can and has resulted in products being banned from the marketplace with resulting high losses for the companies involved and bad publicity. As the RoHS, EuP, REACH and other legislation start to bite this scenario is likely to occur far more often. This webinar looks at the issues involved in managing the supply chain and how best to minimise the risks. What will be covered:
About the Presenter: Dr. Joseph Chiodo is the inventor of numerous technology since the 1980s including Active Disassembly (AD), Active Separation (AS) and ADSM. He was also the coordinator of the 1st ADSM EU FrameWork V project of 2.85 M Euro. This collaborative research project involved, among others, Nokia, Motorola, Sony, Gaiker and Indumetal. He invented 'Active Disassembly' (AD) to benefit recycling and product component separation Who should attend:
